Berndt and La Vita Incorporated, trading as BLV Attorneys, is a dynamic, full-service law firm based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, South Africa, with a national and international reach.
Founded in 2010 by Audrey Berndt and Natasha La Vita and incorporated in 2013, BLV Attorneys began with a strong focus on consumer law. Through a commitment to excellence, innovative thinking and client-focused service, the firm has grown into a diverse legal practice offering expertise across multiple areas of law, including commercial litigation, family law and consumer law.
At BLV Attorneys, we believe that effective legal representation requires more than simply knowing the law. AUDREY BERNDT
Audrey Berndt is a co-founder and director of Berndt and La Vita Incorporated (BLV Attorneys) and an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, with the right of appearance in the higher courts including the Supreme Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court.
Audrey gained valuable experience at Routledge Modise Moss Morris before completing her articles at Logan Attorneys, a practice specialising in consumer law. Over the years, she has developed a diverse legal practice with particular expertise in litigation, ICT law, commercial agreements, contracts and POPIA compliance.
Fluent in French, Audrey’s legal expertise is trusted by clients both locally and internationally. She also serves as a local correspondent for the French-speaking press in Canada, France and French-speaking countries across the African continent, providing her with a unique international perspective and insight into cross-border matters.
With a precise, analytical and meticulous approach, Audrey has a particular passion for litigation and contracts. Her ability to identify legal risks, anticipate potential challenges and develop practical solutions has become a defining feature of her practice.
As the legal landscape continues to evolve alongside rapid technological advancement, Audrey has embraced the intersection between law and emerging technology. This has led her to develop a niche practice in the legal review and compliance assessment of AI-related contracts and agreements, including evaluating their compliance, enforceability and regulatory implications within specific jurisdictions. Her work in this area involves considering applicable legislation, contractual obligations, data protection requirements, jurisdictional differences and the evolving regulatory environment surrounding artificial intelligence.

NATASHA LA VITA
Natasha La Vita is a co-founder and director of Berndt and La Vita Incorporated (BLV Attorneys). She obtained her law degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and furthered her legal training by completing the Practical Legal Management Course through the Law Society. Natasha completed her articles at Logan Attorneys, a practice specialising in consumer law, where she developed a strong foundation in consumer matters and litigation.
Natasha has developed a diverse legal practice with a particular interest in corporate and commercial law, consumer law, contracts, POPIA compliance, family law, divorce, and matters relating to children. She regularly advises multinational companies, providing practical, commercially focused legal guidance tailored to their needs.
Her experience in family law includes working closely with the Family Advocate in matters involving custody, guardianship and the best interests of children. Natasha approaches these often complex and sensitive matters with professionalism, empathy and determination.
In 2024, Natasha expanded BLV Attorneys’ international presence by heading the firm’s new office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, strengthening the firm’s ability to assist clients with cross-border legal requirements and further establishing BLV Attorneys as a practice with an international outlook.
Known for her charisma, approachability and extensive legal knowledge, Natasha builds lasting relationships with her clients and is committed to providing clear, trusted and practical solutions. Her strong and loyal client base reflects her ability to combine recognised legal expertise with a personal, accessible approach to client service.
